In the name of God Amen, I John Burchers being in perfect memory thanks to God for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following,
First I commit my Body to the earth to be decently buried and my just Debts to be paid, all my temporal Estate that the Lord has been pleased to help me with I give and bequeth in manner and form following
Item. i give my whole Estate to be Equally divided between my 2 Sons namely John Burcher and William Burcher and in case of my Sons should die before they come to lawfull age or marriage then I give the one half of my said Estate to my father in law John Garson (I think) and the other half to be divided amongst my Brothers and Sisters mainly William Aduston Rogers, Barbara Rogers and the chldren of Charles ?(Sheilr?) Decesaed, Ann Hay alnd the issue of James Burcher Deceased and Mary Sharlock and Clara Burcher my desire is to give five Dollars to Mr John Dunn and also appoint my loving Friends, Gohn Garrow, William Garrow and Edward Moss junr. my whole and sole Executor. I give my Executor full Power to sell either publicly or privately.
My will and desire is that my Negros shall not be set up at public Hire but that they may have liberty of chusing their Masters. I hereby affix my hand and Seal this first day of June one thousand seven hundred and eighty two. Signed Sealed in the Presence of
